Julie Blackmon is a North American, born photographer in Springfield (Missouri), in 1966. It uses varied digital technique to intensify the color and to combine different elements: his target is to create original family scenes. The fact of being the biggest of nine brothers and the mother of three children allows him to "use" its own relatives to create these images.
One of his most recognized works is the titled series “Domestic Vacation“. In her a house is represented in disorder, it fills of children and excited adults. As affirms the photographer, these photos arise from a combination of personal experience with fiction elements. The images try to reflect the life of those children who live in a large family, at the same time that they explore different aspects of the everyday life. They can visit this creative series of photos here.
The photos of Julie Blackmon are part of permanent collections in museums of Kansas City, Houston and Seattle. In this case alumnus “Mind Games“ presented other one of his interesting collections (this black and white time). Here the big protagonists are the children and the game. Advisable.
