Figures formed by thousands of North American soldiers (1915-1920)

Mass and Thomas

An interesting discovery: photos of figures achieved by means of formations of North American military men. These images were working at the time of supporting the participation of the United States in the First World war and avoiding this way any tendency aislasionista. It is in the times of war where these patriotic images were used like nationalistic propaganda.

This is a collection of photos of Arthur S. Mass and John D. Thomas. Both were traveling from a military camp to other, forming thousands of soldiers of way of creating gigantic native symbols. The represented images include the Bell of the Freedom, the Statue of the Freedom, the emblem of the Infantry of Marina and a portrait of the Uncle Sam and of the President Wilson. The last one, for example, formed by means of 21.000 officials and soldiers.

Next I share a pair of these images. They are in excellent definition so they can be appreciated in its entirety. The rest of the photos can see them here.
